Lynda assumed the Editor in Chief role of Entrepreneur Philippines in January 2016. While the magazine was a stalwart in the country for 15 years (until its last issue that hit the newsstands in December 2015), its strengthening online and widening social media presence will continue to serve netizens who want to celebrate the entrepreneur in them, and Lynda is overseeing such to help make it happen for them.
Prior to Entrepreneur Philippines, Lynda was Desk Editor for the Business section of Rappler, a pioneering social news network. With Rappler, she led the coverage of the Forbes Global CEO Conference 2015 (first time held in the Philippines), and co-lead the coverage of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in 2015, and which the Rappler Business Team produced compelling business stories on thought-provoking issues surrounding the annual summit. She also served as Night Editor for Rappler’s coverage of Pope Francis’ pastoral and state visit to the Philippines in January 2015. She started in July 2013 with the news organization as a contributor, writing business features, personal profiles, and personal finance stories on an assignment basis. Lynda also joined the corporate / IT-BPO world as Writer/ Editor for IBM Global Process Services, supporting the F&A and SCM tower for their branding / marketing requirements and meeting clients’ satisfaction.
She also served as Managing Editor of MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (a monthly magazine dedicated to managers, registered and printed in Singapore).
Prior to this, she was Managing Editor of MoneySense, the Philippines’ new and only personal finance magazine. With the magazine’s tie-ins with various media, her select articles were posted on the personal finance section of Inquirer.net and the business section of abs-cbnnews.com.
Lynda was also Staff Writer for Enterprise business-lifestyle magazine (of Media G8way Corp.), where she won the 2006 UPS Best Story (from the global company UPS, and its Asia-Pacific public relations groups’ internal competition). She was also finalist in the best investigative report category of the 2006 Catholic Mass Media Awards.
She was also Features Writer / Editorial Assistant for The Manila Times Lifestyle and Entertainment sections.
Lynda also contributed articles for Health Today and MOMSToday magazines. She was also contributing editor for the environmental organization, Haribon Foundation. Lynda was also a contributing writer for Punongbayan & Araullo, a top auditing firm in the Philippines and Bioessence, a top, local beauty clinic.
She was Special Reports Editor of the 86-year-old The Varsitarian, the official student publication of the 403-year-old University of Santo Tomas (where she finished AB Journalism). Lynda was also student trainee for the international news agency Agence France Presse. She also serves as lecturer in campus journalism seminars and workshops for various Metro Manila and North Luzon universities, high schools, and elementary schools, and as judge in Metro Manila district- and division-wide campus journalism contests.
Lynda already completed the 36 of the 39 courses required for the MA Media Studies major in Journalism degree from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. She also attended the registered financial planners program of the Registered Financial Planners Philippines.
In further advancing her career, Lynda is keen in pursuing Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification; completing Project Management courses; completing courses and highly interested in Brand System and Workforce Enablement and Marketing and Communications.
